FAQ - Travelling to Blausee
Here we answer frequently asked questions about parking, travelling by public transport, etc.
When is the Blausee Nature Park open?
- The Blausee Nature Park is open daily, 365 days a year, from 09.00! As a rule, the park is open until 9.00 pm, but there may be exceptions due to events. These can be found here, under special opening hours.
Where can I park at Blausee?
-
We have several large car parks directly on the main road between Frutigen and Kandersteg. However, space is of course limited and, especially in the high season or during events, there may be no more parking spaces available. We therefore generally recommend travelling by public transport. The car parks at Blausee are subject to a charge and can be paid for on site in cash, by credit card or with the usual parking apps.
Depending on the car park, you walk between 300 and 550 metres to Blausee.
How do I get to Blausee by public transport?
- Take the train to Frutigen or Kandersteg. Change to the bus there. The bus stop is called "Blausee BE", from here you walk approx. 350 metres to the lake. The easiest way to plan your journey is via bls.ch or sbb.ch.
-
Yes, we have lockers for luggage and suitcases in the main car park, near the shop at the entrance to the park. They cost CHF 5.00 per day (payable in cash in CHF only).
Is the Blausee wheelchair accessible / suitable for pushchairs?
-
From the main entrance to the nature park there is a 300 metre long, asphalted path to Blausee, which goes up and down, but is generally wheelchair accessible and also suitable for pushchairs. You can therefore visit the restaurant and the playground, but the other, smaller footpaths in the nature park are not suitable. The Blausee restaurant also has a wheelchair-accessible toilet with changing table.
Can I charge my electric car at Blausee?
-
Unfortunately, we do not have charging stations for electric cars.
However, we offer hotel guests a socket if possible / available, but you would have to bring your own adapters.
